Wednesday still pose a comeback...on paper

The first leg of the League One playoff semi-finals featured a fantastic match between Peterborough United and Sheffield Wednesday, led by Darren Moore for Sheffield Wednesday and Darren Ferguson for Peterborough United. The dominant force, however, was Peterborough, who put on an exhilarating performance that left the opposition in complete disarray.

Goals from Jack Taylor, Joe Ward, Kwame Poku and the ever-reliable Clarke-Harris sealed a huge 4-0 win in the 1st leg for Peterborough at London Park and have given themselves an incredible lifeline at a trip to Wembley later in the month, where they will play either Barnsley or Bolton and compete for a chance of promotion to the Championship.

If Sheffield Wednesday want to keep their hopes of promotion alive, they will have to dig deep and mount a comeback in the second leg of the semi-finals.

Although the game isn't over until that final whistle is blown. Sheffield Wednesday's home form this season has been remarkable as they have picked up an average of 2.35 points per game in front of the fans at Hillsborough and losing just once in front of the home fans this season. They also average 1.95 goals per game when playing at home and concede just 0.7 on average. This incredible home form, with the fans getting behind the team from the get-go, could inspire a comeback that dreams are made of for Sheffield Wednesday and help them cross the line into the playoff finals.
