As of 6pm today, Sheffield Wednesday have officially reported via their Twitter account that manager Darren Moore has left the club by "mutual consent".
This news, if you're a Wednesday fan, will come as a huge shock after the League One season just past.
Moore had been with the club since the beginning of March 2021, unfortunately ending that season with relegation from the Championship. The following season Moore won Manager of the Month for November and lead the team into the playoffs, but unfortunately just came up short.
Most notably, it was the season just past where Moore made history with the Owls. The return from a four goal deficit in the playoffs and an impressive win at Wembley against Barnsley seen them promoted back to the Championship under Moore's leadership.
It was clear to see a huge bond was created between Darren Moore and the fans during his tenure - and after staying put with the club for over 2 years, we feel this decision is surely anything but "mutual"
It is hard to fathom why Darren Moore would want to leave the club, but it makes more sense why the club would want to seek out a manager with more Championship experience than what Moore was equipped with.
Still, we feel the decision is certainly unfair to Moore considering his recent achievements managing the now Championship club, Sheffield Wednesday.
