Newcastle has officially confirmed the acquisition of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan. The transfer deal is reportedly valued at £52 million, and the 23-year-old midfielder has signed a contract until 2028 with St James' Park.
Tonali, a highly regarded talent from Italy, joins the Premier League after an impressive stint at Milan, where he made 130 appearances and earned 14 senior caps for the Italian national team. His performances have drawn comparisons to the renowned midfield maestro Andrea Pirlo.
Initially arriving at Milan on loan from his childhood club Brescia in 2020, Tonali made a permanent move the following year. He played a crucial role in helping Milan secure the Scudetto in the 2021/22 season and contributed to their impressive campaign with 48 appearances across all competitions. This signing could be huge for Magpies and their upcoming Premier League and Champions League campaign.
